Hi, I’m Leah Heery — owner and founder of HeerysHounds.

 

Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my “Angel dog” Flynn — a gentle hound who completely stole my heart and inspired a lifelong love of dogs. Flynn isn’t with us anymore, but his spirit is very much alive in what I do today. In fact, HeerysHounds is a blend of my own name and his — a tribute to the dog who started it all.

 

Before launching my own business, I gained hands-on experience working in a dog daycare, kennels, and as a dog walker. Along the way, I earned my Level 2 qualification in Animal Care, became DBS checked, and insured with Petplan Sanctuary — so your pets are always in safe and capable hands.

 

While I have a soft spot for whippets (thank you, Flynn!), I truly love all breeds and personalities — from bouncy puppies to wise old seniors. When I’m not out on walks or keeping furry friends company, you’ll often find me off on adventures with my boyfriend and his Staffador, Dodger, exploring new places or spending quality time with family.

 

At HeerysHounds, I believe every pet deserves care that’s personal, professional, and full of love — the same way I’d want my own four-legged friends to be treated. Whether it’s a long countryside walk, a cuddle visit, or keeping to a pet’s special routine, I’m here to make sure tails are wagging and owners have complete peace of mind.
